We're Out to Change the Way We Feed Our Pets
Make no mistake, we're with you. You're here because you already know how important food is to your pet. Food makes for good health, happiness, and long lives. |
We're Jay and Michael Smith. We started freshfetch Pet Foods in 2008 to bring ease, simplicity and science to the idea of feeding the best friends and -- really -- family members that we call pets.
Like so many friends and family, we were shocked and devastated as we watched so many pets become sickened and die from eating food tainted by melamine in 2007. Since then, we've watched dozens and dozens of pet food recalls speaking to the problem in our way of thinking about pet foods.
So, we dug into the research -- and there's a lot of it. Years later, we've recruited the support and assistance of veterinarians, breeders, nutritionists, and pet owners to help us create the perfect food for dogs. We can make that claim because we do practically nothing to it.
In fact, it's our mission to get this whole food to you and your dog without processing it or otherwise messing it up. About all we do is to add the right mix of vitamins and minerals, suitable for your own use, to be sure that the food meets the guidelines set by the National Research Council, and also the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO). Then we label it with FDA-compliant nutrition labels, unlike any other dog food you'll find. We do this to demonstrate to you that our food actually contains the ingredients we say it contains, and not some minimum or maximum amount as most pet food labels do.
